My three favorite organization tips {linky party}

by adminS2U

It probably speaks to my attention difficulties but I am constantly organizing and then reorganizing and then coming up with a new organizational system.  I have a lot of experience with organizational systems.  I probably should be participating in the how to put things back where they belong linky.  In no particular order, here are my favorite three tips.

  1. Purchase matching boxes:  I love putting everything into a plastic crate.  I know I’ve spent more time and money getting new boxes or systems as things didn’t fit the way I wanted them too.  Guess what.  I should’ve just spent the money up front to get what I really wanted (or rather, saved until I could afford what I really wanted).  My best suggestion is to buy a bunch of the same type of box-you may need several different sizes-but try to keep the style the same.
  2. Command hooks:  I think a scarf or a pretty necklace helps to pull an outfit together.  I have a lot of necklaces but they would end up tangled or I would forget what I had when I left them in my jewelry box.  At first I used little cup hooks inside which I drilled on the inside of our bedroom door.  I’m sure if we ever sell, people will not be happy about the 100 small holes in the door.  Also, when I would close the bedroom door at night, all of my necklaces would hit the door and wake up my husband and dog.  So I moved them to the wall using command hooks.  Now I can quickly see what I have when I am getting dressed in the morning.

  1. Underwear/sock sorters: I do not have time to fold my underwear.  Also I’m at an age where I don’t have time to have different colors of underwear.  Hey look, I just posted a picture of all of my underwear online.  Actually, those are socks.  But I stuff my underwear into similar containers.  This is my favorite organizational system I have every purchased.  Who knows how many hours I have saved folding underwear.  You can check it out by clicking on my affiliate link below.

Bonus Organization Tip

I love this idea for using a dish drying rack to store coloring books so much I had to try it.  Unfortunately, my coloring book were a little big for the drying rack I had.  Still-it would be a cute thing to have in a waiting room.

    I do not know how I lived without Command Hooks! They have been a life saver for our rental homes and I love that I can easily decorate my office in a functional way that can be changed as needed. Thanks so much for sharing your ideas!

    Love the command hooks for necklaces. Mine are always a jumbled mess. I need to try that!

    I will admit it: I have a thing about socks. I would need a hundred of those organizers!
